Warwick volunteer mappers use satellite imagery to trace buildings, roads and other features to create new map data that can be used to plan for disaster response and other life-saving activities.
Anyone can contribute to the map! Whether you have never mapped before and would like to get started or you have logged hundreds of hours on HOT Tasking Manager already - we would love for you to join Warwick YouthMappers.
We hold weekly sessions called 'mapathons' (on a drop-in basis: come whenever you like and stay for as long as you wish!) and socials. At the beginning of each session, you will be taught a new thing about mapping and practise on a new project every week. The great thing however, is that you can also map at any time and place that is convenient for you! Once you have learned the basics, this is an activity that can easily be undertaken on your own to help more people in need.
All you need is a laptop and some enthusiasm to learn a new skill! Help us put vulnerable communities on the map!
